Glutton Build & Explosions-Guide

🔓Pick up 20 consumables during a run

Is Glutton good in Brotato?

Glutton is a strong scaling character built around consumables and explosions. If you can reliably spawn fruits and stay at full HP, his explosion damage ramps hard and screens melt, but his expensive shops and lower XP make early game more fragile.

💪

Strengths

  • High built-in Luck and powerful consumable explosions for strong clear
  • Infinite explosion damage scaling whenever you pick up fruits at full HP
  • Synergizes extremely well with Gardens, Trees and other consumable spawners
⚠️

Weaknesses

  • +25% item price and -25% XP slow down early snowball and power spikes
  • Relies on good positioning and sustain to pick up consumables at full HP
  • Struggles more in runs where you cannot find Gardens or extra Trees
📊

Glutton Stats & Passive Ability

Base Stats
+50 Luck
+1% Explosion Damage when picking up a consumable while at maximum health
Consumables have a 100% chance to explode for 10 (500% Melee Damage) damage when picked up
+25% Items Price
-25% XP Gain
🎮

Glutton is a consumable-focused explosion character. His passive makes every consumable you pick up explode and grants permanent explosion damage whenever you collect them at full HP, so you want to generate as many fruits as possible and control when you heal. The high Luck encourages you to stack Trees, Gardens and other consumable sources, while also improving drops and shop quality. Because of the increased item prices and reduced XP gain, you should lean into economy tools (extra materials, Thief Dagger setups) and reliable healing so you can afford key explosion, melee and defensive stats without falling behind in levels.

Strategy

🌱Early Game

Rush multiple Pruners and stack Trees and Gardens to flood the map with fruits. From there, pick up any early items that increase explosion size, damage, Luck, melee damage, armor and max HP while keeping your consumable healing positive so you can safely trigger explosions.

Mid Game

Keep buying Pruners until all weapon slots are filled and look for more Trees and Gardens. Scale Luck, melee damage and armor so your consumable explosions and base hits both contribute while you stay tanky enough to pick up fruits at full HP for permanent explosion damage.

🔥Late Game & Danger 5 Bossing

In the late game your entire screen should be covered by Garden and Pruner fruits. Focus level-ups on Max HP, Armor and HP Regeneration so that stray hits do not drop you too low to keep triggering full-HP consumable pickups. Continue stacking melee damage to push the explosion scaling from Glutton’s passive and make each fruit pickup a huge AOE nuke. Avoid items that reduce your stats when hit, as chip damage is common on Danger 5 and you want consistent power during long waves and boss fights.

Glutton Danger 5 Strategy

🌱

Early Game

On early waves with Glutton on Danger 5, secure economy and fruit generation first. Grab Pruners and Gardens whenever they appear and take Trees to create more consumables. Level up Luck, melee damage and a bit of survivability, but avoid over-investing in rerolls since items are already more expensive.

Mid Game

In the mid game, fill all weapon slots with Pruners or transition into your chosen weapon package while continuing to stack Gardens. Focus on scaling melee damage and explosion-related stats so every fruit pickup and consumable explosion clears packs. Add armor and max HP so you can safely move through enemies to collect fruits without dropping too low.

🔥

Late Game

During late waves and the Danger 5 boss, your map should be saturated with fruits from Gardens and Pruners. Prioritize defensive stats (Armor, Max HP, HP Regeneration) while continuing to take items that increase melee or explosion damage. Kite around bosses so that their adds feed you more consumables, and time your pickups at high HP for maximum permanent explosion scaling.

💡 Glutton’s Danger 5 gameplan is to build a consumable engine using Pruners, Gardens and Trees, then convert that into huge, scaling explosions. Manage your economy to overcome higher item prices and lower XP, and balance offense with enough defenses so you can safely harvest fruits at full HP throughout the run.

Glutton FAQ

1How do I unlock Glutton in Brotato?

Glutton is unlocked by picking up 20 consumables during a run. Focus on items that spawn fruits, like Gardens and Trees, to reach this requirement quickly.

2What are the best weapons for Glutton?

Pruner is the best weapon for a Danger 5 Gardener build because it spawns Gardens and fruits for Glutton’s passive. Thief Dagger is great early for economy, while Nuclear Launcher shines in Endless explosion-focused builds.

3Which stats should I prioritize on Glutton?

Prioritize Luck, melee damage, explosion damage, Max HP, armor and a bit of HP regeneration. In builds using Thief Dagger or Nuclear Launcher, attack speed, engineering and range damage also become very valuable.

4How do Glutton’s consumable explosions work?

Every consumable Glutton picks up explodes, and when you pick one up at maximum health you permanently gain +1% explosion damage. This makes stacking fruits from Gardens and Trees extremely powerful over a full run.

5How do I deal with Glutton’s -25% XP and higher item prices?

Use economy tools like Thief Daggers and materials-on-kill items, leverage Glutton’s high Luck for better drops, and prioritize efficient purchases like Gardens and core explosion items instead of over-rerolling shops.
