Brotato Beast Master Build & Pet Strategy Guide
Haustierhorde im Griff: Beast Master richtig spielen
Is Beast Master good in Brotato?
Beast Master is strong and very fun if you lean fully into pets and defensive stats. He clears waves safely once your pet army is online, but his weak early game and lack of direct attacks can be punishing if you mismanage positioning or sustain.
Strengths
- Huge scaling: all pets benefit from Melee, Ranged, Elemental Damage and Engineering
- Free Lootworm from wave 1 gives strong economy and automatic pickup/tree destruction
- High Speed from pets lets you outrun most enemies and reposition easily
- +10 Luck early makes it easier to find key pets and rares in the shop
- Can reach a point where pets kill enemies as soon as they spawn, making late waves very safe
Weaknesses
- No weapons means you rely entirely on pet AI and positioning
- Early waves are fragile until you find more pets and basic defenses
- Can struggle to focus down single bosses if your pets are spread out
- Screen gets visually chaotic with many pets, making dodging and awareness harder
- Heavily item‑dependent: bad shop luck on pets or sustain can brick a run

Beast Master Stats & Passive Ability
Beast Master is a pure summoner-style character: you never equip weapons and instead let pets do all of the damage and utility. You start with a Lootworm that automatically collects materials and destroys trees, giving you strong early economy and freeing you to focus on dodging. Every permanent pet grants +2% Speed, which naturally turns into more damage if you pick items like Power Generator, and all pets scale with Melee Damage, Ranged Damage, Elemental Damage and Engineering, so almost any offensive stat you buy will meaningfully increase their output. The optimal playstyle is to stack as many pets as possible while building enough Armor, Dodge and healing to survive contact. You kite enemies, stay near important aura pets like Doc Moth and Catling Gun, and let bottom‑placed pets like Bot-O-Mine, Blazemander, and Ratzilla clear the map. Since shops only offer items (no weapons) on Beast Master, you can freely tunnel on key pet items, scaling stats, and defensive tools without clutter.

Strategy
🌱Early Game – Stabilize and Grab Core Pets
In the first 5–6 waves you are extremely weak, so focus on survival, economy and securing your first real damage pets. Your free Lootworm will handle most material pickup and trees, so prioritize staying alive over greed. In the shop, grab any pet that appears immediately – Bonk Dog for explosive dashes, Ratzilla for cheap scaling damage, and Bot-O-Mine for early landmines are all excellent pickups. Because pet damage scales with Melee, Ranged, Elemental and Engineering, take any level-up that offers a big chunk of one of these stats, especially Melee Damage (great scaling on Bonk Dog and many pets) and Elemental Damage (for Blazemander and other burn sources). Defensively, pick up early Max HP, a bit of Armor and some Dodge so getting clipped doesn’t end the run. Life Steal is also worth taking even at low values, since Doc Moth can later double it. Items like Gentle Alien, Bag, Coupon and Metal Detector are very efficient early pickups on Beast Master, boosting economy and damage while Lootworm multiplies their value.
⚡Mid Game – Scale Pet Damage and Sustain
From roughly waves 7–15 your goal is to turn your small zoo into a true swarm while shoring up defenses for elites. Start actively stacking damage stats that scale multiple pets at once: Melee Damage (Bonk Dog, Ratzilla), Elemental Damage (Blazemander, Greek Fire synergies), and Engineering (Bot-O-Mine, turrets, landmines). Hybrid items like Alloy, Gnome, Mammoth and Robot Arm are incredible here, because each point they add is multiplied across your entire pet roster. This is also the point where sustain becomes critical. Doc Moth dramatically improves both Life Steal and HP Regeneration in its aura, letting you face-tank chip damage as long as you stay inside the circle. Jellyshield patches your biggest weakness against ranged waves by blocking projectiles around you. Scapegoat (Target Dummy) acts as a moving decoy that pulls aggro away when enemy density spikes, buying you time to reposition and heal. Combine these support pets with generic defenses like Armor (Helmet, Metal Plate, Warrior Helmet), Dodge (Clover, Jet Pack, Cape), Max HP (Octopus, Shmoop, Alien Baby) and regeneration items (Mushroom, Plant, Regeneration Potion) so that a single mistake doesn’t cascade into a death.
🔥Late Game – Stand Your Ground With a Full Pet Army
Once you have 15+ pets and solid defenses, Beast Master transitions into a pseudo-turret playstyle. With enough Speed from pets and items like Jet Pack or Wings, plus Power Generator, your global damage multiplier can skyrocket. At this stage, many creators simply stand near the center of the map, surrounded by landmines from multiple Bot-O-Mines, while Bonk Dogs, Catling Guns, Blazemander and Ratzillas shred everything that spawns. For bosses and elite waves, focus on positioning more than aggression: stay inside overlapping Doc Moth auras, let Jellyshield block barrages, and keep Scapegoat between you and danger. Catling Gun benefits noticeably if you stay close to it (or cluster pets around it) to ramp its attack speed. If you’re comfortable, you can start stacking more greed and damage like Glass Cannon, Triangle of Power, Cyclops Worm, Power Generator and Vigilante Ring to push into very high difficulty or Endless; just make sure your Armor and HP Regeneration are high enough that burst damage from elites cannot one-shot you. With a capped-out zoo and layered defensive pets, Beast Master can comfortably clear late-game waves while you focus mainly on dodging and reviving Scapegoat when necessary.
Best weapons for Beast Master
Beast Master cannot equip weapons at all, so your "weapon" slot is effectively empty. All of your damage, utility and crowd control comes from pets and on-hit / on-pickup item effects instead of traditional weapons.
Best items for Beast Master (core item pool)
Your starting pet and the backbone of Beast Master’s economy: it auto-collects materials, snipes trees you can’t hit yourself, and occasionally doubles pickups, enabling heavy rerolling and easier access to rare pets.
High-scaling melee and explosive pet that excels at deleting clumps of enemies and elites. Scales strongly with Melee Damage and generic Explosion modifiers like Dynamite and Explosive Shells.
Core ranged DPS pet; staying near it or clustering other pets around it ramps its fire rate, letting it melt bosses and elites. Any Ranged Damage and Attack Speed you buy amplifies its output.
Blankets the map in burning projectiles and scales exceptionally with Elemental Damage and burning enhancers like Greek Fire, Eyes Surgery and Snake, giving your zoo strong AoE damage over time.
Counts as both pet and structure, dropping landmines that form a deadly minefield around you. Engineering massively increases both its shots and explosions, and it pairs perfectly with Explosion items and structure buffs like Improved Tools.
Cheap, spammable pet that scales off Max HP and also benefits from all global damage stats on Beast Master. Stacking Ratzillas plus HP items like Mammoth, Octopus, Shmoop and Broken Mouth creates a moving wall of shredding rodents.
One of the most important sustain tools for Beast Master; its aura doubles both HP Regeneration and Life Steal, letting you quickly recover from chip damage and survive scary waves while standing near it.
Directly addresses Beast Master’s vulnerability to ranged enemies by orbiting around you and absorbing incoming bullets. Multiple copies and cursed variants can create a dense shield that trivializes projectile-heavy waves.
Acts as a mobile taunt that soaks aggro for you, which is invaluable when you can’t attack directly or need time to heal. Reviving it between enemy waves or when it drops buys you breathing room during intense moments.
Perfect scaling item for Beast Master: all four offensive stats it grants directly increase pet damage. A single Alloy effectively buffs your entire zoo, making it one of the highest-value legendaries for this character.
Sacrifices Range and pickup range (which Beast Master doesn’t care much about thanks to Lootworm) in exchange for huge Melee and Elemental Damage. Those stats heavily buff Bonk Dog, Blazemander and most other pets.
Supplies a massive chunk of Melee Damage plus regeneration, both of which Beast Master loves. The global Damage penalty is offset by how many individual pets benefit from the Melee boost, and the HP Regeneration pairs well with Doc Moth.
Provides permanent Melee Damage and Engineering growth each wave, which continuously scales your entire pet army. The gradual Max HP loss is manageable if you are also stacking HP items and sustain.
Turns Beast Master’s +2% Speed per pet into a powerful global damage multiplier. With a large pet army your Speed can be extremely high, and Power Generator converts that into a huge boost for all pet attacks.
Beast Master High-Difficulty Strategy
Early Game
On high difficulty, treat the early waves as a survival puzzle: hug the edges of the map, kite enemies in loose circles, and let starting pets clear them while Lootworm scoops materials. Prioritize any shop pet over generic items, then buy cheap Max HP and a little Armor so a single hit won’t kill you. Reroll aggressively using Lootworm’s extra income to find key pets like Bonk Dog, Ratzilla or Bot-O-Mine as soon as possible.
Mid Game
In the mid game, focus on scaling your zoo and your sustain for elite waves. Stack Melee Damage, Elemental Damage and Engineering through items like Alloy, Gnome, Mammoth and Robot Arm so each purchase boosts every pet. Add Doc Moth for doubled regen and Life Steal, Jellyshield for projectile defense and Scapegoat for emergency aggro. Always enter elite waves with full HP, good Armor and at least one defensive pet aura you can stand inside.
Late Game
Late game, your pet army should be large enough that you can mostly stand near the center and let them erase spawns. Layer landmines from multiple Bot-O-Mines around you, and keep Catling Guns and Blazemander in your orbit for rapid-fire and burning coverage. Stay inside overlapping Doc Moth auras during elite and boss waves, revive Scapegoat when safe, and only pick risky damage items like Glass Cannon if your Armor and sustain are already comfortable.
💡 Beast Master thrives on high difficulties once you survive the first few waves and assemble a critical mass of pets. Invest early in pets and survivability, then transition into heavy scaling of Melee, Elemental and Engineering so every new item multiplies across your whole zoo. With defensive pets like Doc Moth, Jellyshield and Scapegoat online, your biggest job is smart positioning – if you stay inside your support auras and don’t overextend, your pets will handle the rest.
Beast Master FAQ
1How do I unlock Beast Master in Brotato?▼
Beast Master is unlocked after you unlock all of the core pet items: Bonk Dog, Catling Gun, Bot-O-Mine, Blazemander and Lootworm. Each of these has its own condition, such as equipping at least 6 weapons that scale with specific damage types or leaving materials on the ground to unlock Lootworm.
2What are the best items for Beast Master?▼
The best items are those that either spawn powerful pets or scale several damage stats at once. Lootworm, Bonk Dog, Catling Gun, Blazemander, Bot-O-Mine, Ratzilla, Doc Moth, Jellyshield and Scapegoat form a strong pet core. Scaling items like Alloy, Gnome, Mammoth, Robot Arm and Power Generator then greatly increase their damage, while defensive pieces like Warrior Helmet, Metal Plate and Octopus keep you alive.
3Which stats should I prioritize on Beast Master?▼
Prioritize Melee Damage, Elemental Damage and Engineering first, as these have strong pet scaling and appear frequently on level-ups and items. Ranged Damage is good but less efficient on many pets. Alongside damage stats, make sure to buy Max HP, Armor, HP Regeneration and some Life Steal so Doc Moth’s aura can keep you topped off during hectic waves.
4Can Beast Master use weapons?▼
No. Beast Master cannot equip any weapons, similar to Bull. Your damage comes entirely from pets and item-based effects such as explosions or structures. Because weapons never appear in the shop for him, you can safely spend all materials on items, rerolls and pets.
5How do pets scale with Beast Master’s stats?▼
On Beast Master, every pet scales with all four offensive stats: Melee Damage, Ranged Damage, Elemental Damage and Engineering, in addition to their own special rules like Ratzilla scaling with Max HP or Bot-O-Mine gaining extra damage from Engineering. This makes hybrid damage items and multi-stat legendaries extremely efficient compared to most characters.
6Is Beast Master good for Endless mode?▼
Beast Master performs very well in Endless if you commit to stacking pets and scaling stats. As your number of pets and Speed grow, items like Power Generator and high-value damage legendaries make their output scale extremely hard, while defensive pets such as Doc Moth, Jellyshield and Scapegoat allow you to tank more and more pressure as waves get denser.

Bull→
Like Beast Master, Bull cannot equip weapons and relies on an alternative damage source (explosions when hit). Both play around tanky builds and positioning while letting automatic effects clear enemies.

Engineer→
Engineer focuses on Engineering and structures such as turrets, similar to how Beast Master scales Bot-O-Mine and other structure-like pets. Both reward stacking Engineering to make autonomous allies do the heavy lifting.

Technomage→
Technomage synergizes structures and Elemental Damage, gaining bonuses from both, much like Beast Master scales pets with Elemental Damage and can lean into Engineering-based Bot-O-Mines and burn-focused Blazemander.
