Brotato Metal Plate

Metal Plate is the most common armor pickup, giving cheap armor that dramatically reduces incoming damage on a character who intentionally gets hit, with only a small damage penalty.

Metal Plate is a clean source of armor with only a small damage penalty, perfect for a character whose damage comes mostly from Max HP. High armor lets Chunky safely push through enemies to reach fruits.

Metal Plate is one of Knight’s best core items: every point of armor gives +2 melee damage, so +2 Armor is effectively a big damage increase and additional mitigation, easily offsetting the small damage% loss.

Metal Plate trades a little damage for much-needed armor, making it easier for Soldier to tank hits while holding position in late waves and Endless.

Metal Plate patches Vampire's early and mid-game squishiness by giving flat Armor, which is further multiplied by his missing HP passive. The small damage penalty is easily offset by his scaling and ethereal weapons.

Provides cheap, reliable armor which is crucial when you take constant self-damage and chip hits from enemies, while the minor damage penalty is easily covered by other flat Ranged Damage sources.

Metal Plate trades a small amount of damage for solid flat armor, which is very efficient on Streamer who already gains plenty of damage from movement bonuses.

Metal Plate sacrifices a bit of damage for valuable Armor, helping Creature survive the increased enemy damage that comes from stacking Curse-heavy items like Black Flag.
