What does Luck do in Brotato?

Luck is the meta-economy stat. It increases drop chances, rarity of shop items, and rarity of level-up upgrades. 100 Luck doubles fruit drops, doubles loot crate odds, and raises the chance of higher-tier offers. Luck has soft caps – higher waves naturally raise the rarity ceiling, so Luck is most valuable EARLY in a run. ~290 Luck is the soft cap for maxing Legendary item chance. Several characters and items convert Luck into damage (Curious, Lucky Coin, Bag of Bombs proc).

Luck Mechanics & Edge Cases

  • 100 Luck doubles fruit drop chance and effectively quadruples crate chance from kills.
  • Each crate dropped reduces the chance of the next crate spawning that wave (diminishing returns).
  • Trees have 100% base fruit chance, so Luck only doubles their crate-conversion rate (not the fruit itself).
  • Soft caps: most rarity bonuses max out around 290 Luck for Legendary items.
  • Curious converts Luck into Damage (1% Damage per 10 permanent Luck).
  • Lucky Coin makes Crit Chance proc damage scale off Luck.

Luck Tips & Strategy

Tip 1: Luck is most powerful in WAVES 1–10 when natural rarity is low.
Tip 2: Stack Luck early on Lucky and Curious – snowballs into Tier IV offers.
Tip 3: Lucky Charm (T1) is one of the best early-game pickups in the game.
Tip 4: On Pacifist (+25 Luck for -5% Damage T4 unique), Luck is your main damage source.
Tip 5: Don't over-invest after wave 15 – the natural rarity has caught up.

Luck FAQ

Does Luck affect shop items in Brotato?

Yes. Luck increases the chance for higher-tier (T2/T3/T4) items in the shop and as level-up upgrades. The effect has diminishing returns past ~290 Luck where Legendary chance maxes out.

Is Luck worth stacking late game in Brotato?

Less so. By wave 15+ the natural item-rarity curve has raised baseline chances on its own. Luck is most valuable in waves 1–10 when you're hunting key items early.

Does Luck increase materials dropped in Brotato?

Indirectly. Luck doesn't directly multiply materials, but it doubles fruit drops and crate chances. Crates often contain bonus materials, and more fruit means more healing + economy.

What is the best Luck item in Brotato?

Lucky Charm (T1, cheap and stacks Luck), Lucky Coin (turns Crit into Luck-scaling damage), Pacifist's signature item, and Curious's Pearl combine Luck into game-winning scaling.
