What does Crit Chance do in Brotato?

Crit Chance increases the chance your weapons land critical hits. Most weapons crit for 2× damage at a 3% base chance, but several have enhanced crit profiles: Knife crits at 2.5×, the Tier IV Nuclear Launcher and Sniper Rifle crit much harder, and Fist actually crits for only 1.5× (so crit is much less valuable on it). Pierces and bounces can each crit individually – which makes Crit Chance compound brutally on builds like Sniper or Crossbow with multiple targets per shot.

Crit Chance Mechanics & Edge Cases

•Most weapons: 3% base crit chance, 2× crit damage. Some weapons (Knife, Nuclear, Sniper) have stronger crit profiles.
•Pierces and bounces roll crit individually per target.
•Explosions can crit (including Bull, Glutton, Rip and Tear, Spicy Sauce explosions).
•Burning, randomly-targeted items (Baby Elephant, Cyberball, Riposte, Lucky / Lich proc), and turrets normally do NOT crit. Pile of Books makes structures crit.
•Some weapons get bonus effects on crit – Thief Dagger steals materials, Crossbow pierces, Minigun chains crits.

Crit Chance Tips & Strategy

Tip 1: Crit caps at 100% – stop stacking once you're at 100% on your highest-priority weapon.

Tip 2: Knife and Crossbow are the textbook Crit weapons – their multipliers are huge.

Tip 3: On Fist (1.5× crit) skip Crit entirely and pour into Damage / Attack Speed.

Tip 4: Hunter and Crazy get item tag bonuses for Crit items – they're the easiest crit-stacking characters.

Tip 5: Lucky Coin (Luck → Crit) is a sneaky crit source on Lucky / Curious / Pacifist builds.

What is the Brotato Crit Chance cap?▾

100% per hit. Once you reach 100% Crit Chance on a weapon, every attack from it crits and additional Crit stat is wasted on that weapon.

Can turrets crit in Brotato?▾

Normally no. Engineering structures cannot crit unless you equip Pile of Books, which enables crits for structures and gives +3% Crit Chance and +3 Engineering.

Does Burning damage crit in Brotato?▾

No. Burn DoT cannot crit. Direct hits from elemental weapons CAN crit, but the burn damage that follows on each tick cannot.

What is the best Crit Chance weapon in Brotato?▾

Crossbow is the highest-multiplier easy-to-use option (2.5×–4× crit damage with 50% chance at T4). Knife scales with both Crit Chance and Attack Speed. Sniper Rifle has insane single-shot crits.
