Primary Stat

Brotato Damage

Multiplicative damage modifier that affects every attack except Engineering structures.

Increases all damage dealt by 1% per point. Does not affect Engineering structures.

Limit

No limit.

Negative

Decreases damage by 1% per point. Minimum damage from any weapon or effect is 1.

What does Damage do in Brotato?

Damage (% Damage) is the universal damage multiplier in Brotato. Every weapon and damage-dealing item benefits from it – with one big exception: it does NOT affect Engineering structures (turrets, landmines, gardens). % Damage stacks additively with % Explosion Damage, so a Dynamite + 30% Damage gives explosive weapons +45% total damage. Items that have their own base damage-as-percentage scaling (Baby Elephant, Cyberball) are still further modified by your Damage stat on top.

Damage Mechanics & Edge Cases

  • Damage does NOT affect Engineering structures – use Engineering for those.
  • Damage stacks additively with Explosion Damage on explosive weapons.
  • Negative Damage caps at -100% effect, but the minimum hit is always at least 1.
  • Items like Baby Elephant or Cyberball that scale with another stat are still multiplied by your Damage stat at the end.

Damage Tips & Strategy

Tip 1: % Damage is one of the best stat dumps in the game – almost no build is bad with more of it.
Tip 2: On heavy-explosion builds (Loud, Demon, Soldier) it stacks with % Explosion Damage for compounding gains.
Tip 3: Engineering builds (Engineer, Builder) want Engineering, not % Damage – budget accordingly.
Tip 4: Tier IV % Damage items like Reaper and One Armed's signature are usually auto-buys.

Damage FAQ

Does Damage affect turrets in Brotato?

No. The % Damage stat does NOT affect Engineering structures (turrets, landmines, gardens). For those you need the Engineering stat. Specials like piercing, bouncing, and explosions DO carry over to structures.

Does Damage stack with Explosion Damage?

Yes – additively. So +30% Damage and a Dynamite (+15% Explosion Damage) gives explosive weapons +45% total. This is why Loud and Demon stack both stats simultaneously.

How much Damage is good in Brotato?

100%+ Damage is the soft target by wave 15 on most builds. Snowball builds (Curious, One Armed, Crazy) push 200%+ at Danger 5. Engineering builds skip Damage entirely.

What is the best Damage item in Brotato?

Reaper, Hand of Doom, Brain Damage, and the Tier 4 Damage uniques (Pacifist's, Curious's) are top picks. Lab Goggles and Hangover are strong T1 / T2 stat-stick fillers.
